Resumé

I anledning af en ny bog og udstilling om Glyptotekets arkitektur dykker artiklen ned i museets historiske og arkitektoniske særpræg. Jeg ser på de tre bygningers forskellige stilretninger, fra Dahlerups historicistiske hovedbygning over Kampmanns nationalromantiske tilføjelse til Henning Larsens moderne tilbygning, og hvordan Carl Jacobsens vision for et skønhedstempel har formet museets udtryk. Artiklen fremhæver både de store linjer og de mange dekorative detaljer, der gør Glyptoteket til et unikt arkitektonisk pejlemærke i København.

On the occasion of a new book and exhibition on the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek’s architecture, this article explores the museum’s historical and architectural distinctiveness. I examine the three buildings’ different styles, from Dahlerup’s historicist main building to Kampmann’s national romantic addition and Henning Larsen’s modern extension, and how Carl Jacobsen’s vision of a “temple of beauty” shaped the museum’s design. The article highlights both the overall structure and the many decorative details that make the Glyptotek a unique architectural landmark in Copenhagen.
